I've asked local deli, bagel place, grocery store, gas stations, and my local bank if they have any half dollars. No luck.

I check coin star machines. Nothing.

Where does everyone else get their 50c pieces from? Local shows?

I'm not looking for high quality. Circulated, scratched/dented are just fine.

Banks can order monster boxes, but other than that you generally have to buy them from someone in my experience.

Find someone going to Las Vegas. Get all you want from some of the casinos.

Your barking up all the right trees but it sounds like your area is dry. Banks will order them for you but some require a $1000 minimum.

I was just in Vegas and a couple of the older casinos on Fremont Street still have coin machines. The Nickel, Quarter and Half Dollar machines pay out and accept the real coins, the dollar machines use casino tokens that appear to be the same size as Ikes. I should have brought a couple beat up Ikes to try them to see if they worked...

I put in paper bills, played a hand or two and cashed out. The halves ranged from the 70's through the 90's, a few from the 2000's. No NIFC were noted and of course there were no silver ones. Some were in pretty good shape with sharp reeds and others were worn almost like pocket pieces.

You can get all the halves you want there if you are patient enough to watch them drop from the machine.

The best place to find them is at a coin collectors place or coin auctions. Good Luck to you!

Months ago, I stopped by some banks that were close to home, and bought some of their small dollars, large dollars, and half dollars. These banks were glad to get rid of them.
