I/ve been using it since I got my phone as the main camera, it was on sale the day I got my iPhone for .99¢ couldn't pass it up as it allowed gird lines and white balance setting. And the flash can be turned on/off and set to lamp to light up a dark scene to focus. You can also adjust your focus point easily. I can't remember when I used the built in camera app for anything other than video.
