No, I'm not sure. I don't really know enough about them. Was ths first question I asked the auctioneer. He assurred me it was, but he didn't really know. Thus, the low bid.I've sent a pic off to a numinastics expert, so hopefully I'll get an answer back early next week. It's the first time I have seen coins up for auction at this place. This was part of a lot of coins on offer, they all seem to have been removed from circulation, the old guy that owned them seemed to have a eye for what was worth something and put it aside. I also picked up bag of 5 florins for $15.00, and a whole heap of GeorgeV threepences.I got everything I put an absentee bid on, which tells me that there were no collectors at this auction.

Just did a little research, I'm about 85% sure it's genuine. The King has a pointy nose, there is a little fold on the bottom of the king's cloak, there is a streamer behind the rider's shoulder, the front streamer nearly pokes the rider in the eye, the horse has a fat belly, the dot between the "A" & "M" is oval, and the rider's hand is intact. I have a few little concerns in regard to detail of the King's crown, the lack of fishtailing of the "A&M" and the direction of the dot between, but that could just be a different die and wear.

I do not know enough about them to help. I know there are a few members who definetely could. I think it would be worth taking somw clear shots of the coin and starting a new topic for it. I hope its real. Its a great buy if it is. Spunds like you did pretty well on the other stuff as well. Silver below melt is always good!
