its about the size of a 20p it has no writing at all , no date or coin value, has anyone any idea what it is?

I wonder where the rest of it is? £2 loss to someone!
Though I guess you could put it on a cord and wear it as a pendant.

I used to work in a recycling plant (in Australia) and found the outer rim sans the middle of one of these English coins. Is there something wrong with their minting process that causes this?
Does either section retain any value or only combined?
Is it like the old pieces of 8 where the coin could be cut to make say 2 bits?

I believe no shopkeeper over here would accept that or the rim for £2.
