I'd suggest purchasing used copies of the Krause world coin catalogs for the previous three centuries. Then park them near where you spend idle time, and peruse them at your leisure. You can make lists in any form you choose, of what you find in those comprehensive reference books tha appeals to you. It would be impossible for the combined input of everyone on this forum, to equal that information source- complete with pictures!

I don't do any dedicated world silver collection, as most of my world silver finds are way below spot, hiding in mixed world coin bins.
However, I do have a soft spot for Austrian 50 Schillings, which is a nice set of big silver coins (they all have a different reverse!) that shouldn't be too much trouble to complete (aside from the cost of silver). I'm also working on a date-set of British shillings.

I have an obsession with 8 Reales Coins from all the Spanish Colonial Mints as well as the Mexican 8 Reales of the first republic. Years 1732-1897

I really have to ask, because of the way you've capitalized it...
By "Old World Coins", do you mean world coins that are old, or do you mean coins from the Old World (Europe, Asia and Africa)?
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

The question is difficult to interpret. Quote: please list Country, year and denomination - I think that would be a list of several thousand for many collectors and would be a meaningless list as you collect what interests you. You'll also find that "year" is also impossible to define as you go back to medieval times where the differentiation is based on other aspects. Funnily enough if you go further back to Roman times year again becomes possible to determine for early denarii.

Sorry for being so vaque. I think the Krause book is the way to go. I was looking for all here to just list Old World coins dated prior to 1970 that are silver or gold that you collected. I went out and bought a pound of mixed foreign coins which was for my daughter and I got to thinking about those foreign coins that contained PM's. I am thinking value as far as coins is concerned for my kids future. I do have coins of my own that I do enjoy like IHC, Merc's and Roosies to name a few. So with whatever answers I received here I can go forward and pursue those foreign coins for them. Thank you.

I'd try for circulation silver sets, because a filled album is always better than a pile. The UK should be the easiest to track down, but there's also been long runs in most Western European countries (although many small or unstable states only issued one type in one year). Again, I'll recommend Austrian 50 schillings because of their changing designs and silver volume (so hopefully your kids will be interested and won't sell them all as soon as they move out!). German 5 marks from West Germany might be a good set if you want silver volume, as Germany used at least five mint marks and the series ran for over 50 years. Actually, this set takes up a whopping two pages in the Krause catalog. A less expensive set could be composed of Netherlands 1 or 2.5 gulden, which are relatively small but have a nice design. And the UK has a wide variety of silver coins, ranging from threepence to crowns. You could try getting all the denominations for a particular year, or getting all the monarchs you can afford. There are a lot of opportunities for a good European set out there, and I'd just leaf through a catalog for a good long while to pick which one you like the best.
