I would like your thoughts on this large cent.

It has 3 small rim nicks.
Your grades would be appreciated.

I don't really know enough about this series to say one grade or another. You have what the TPG's would call it then you have what those specialist people (cant remember the groups name) would call it, and it all kinda confuses me

I think I could go F12 on this one. LIBERTY is good, as are the beads. I believe it would bodybag at a TPG for the rim nicks (and the damage at the O in ONE), but that doesn't make the coin unworthy of an objective grade. If one were to blindly accept PCGS' opinion as gospel, we'd just have to melt a significant percentage of our history because they felt it wasn't up to snuff.

I looked at this one yesterday & didn't give it a grade because I wasn't sure how to account for the rim nicks & whatever is going on with the "o" in one. Without those items I would call it an F15. I believe it has a little more detail than an F12, but not enough to go VF.

Ops! Looks like I have based my grading too much on the worse part with the wear down on the letters -what do I know anyway...

The rim nicks kill it for me. But it looks like a VF.

Thanks to all for your opinions. I knew the rim nicks and the hole in the O would cut down the grade.
I wanted to see if you thought it was worth the $9.00 I paid for it.

I guess it would be in your opinion.

Definitely a more than fair price for a "fine" coin (details anyway).

I think it is an F-12, possibly cleaned. Worth every penny of the price however.
