To celebrate the holiday named in her honour, post some pictures of your favourite Queen Victoria coin. Victoria Day is a Canadian statutory holiday celebrated on the Monday preceding May 25. It honours Queen Victoria's birthday. Victoria Day is also commonly called the May 2-4 weekend (as in May 24th) and it marks the unofficial start of the cottage season where cases of beer (as in 2-4 cases) are consumed by hard working Canadians. Well, here in Quebec they do not like the Queen so they renamed this Holiday " La Fete des Patriotes" for the Frenchmen that fought the Englishmen.Do not remimber the dates. Poeple do not realy care about the name of the Holiday. They just like the day off.

The 24th of May, The Queen's birthday, If we don't get a holiday, We'll all run away
Years ago it always fell on the 24th,and was popularly called "Firecracker Day" Is there anywhere in the country where it is still celebrated with fireworks?

Actually,..many of us here in Quebec do celebrate Victoria Day in a very big way. I should probably use this great presentation vicky again on July 1. May Queen Elizabeth II's reign last for many more years too....I'm sure that she will get to 63 years...and set the bar a little higher.

But if it's only to be "coins" then here's another one of my large cents to keep the celebration going.. .

Great Coin..!! ..Bacchus...
PEI joined the Canadian Confederation on July 1, 1873.
Your coin is soooo close to be a fully fledged Canadian coin that we'll give it an honorary entrance ...and of course
...all vicky coins are welcome and wanted here...
