About 9 year ago the school were my son went was up grading an older section and a friend of mine found this in the wall.
the school had open in 1857 so I guess its been in the wall since 1858maybe later

What a great find!

I love the half-dimes. Only have one in my collection at present, but hope some day soon to add to that.

That's not a doubled die. It's a form of Longacre doubling, has to do with die wear.
