Help With A 1849 Large Cent - Coin Community Forum

JJHFL Valued Member United States 395 Posts	Posted 05/20/2013 1:14 pm New to collecting and for fun I like to grade what I have in my mind. I mostly have started with modern coins but I do have this 1849 Large Cent in my collection and wanted to get opinions. In my mind I'm thinking Fine to Extremely Fine... Although a couple aspects have me bouncing around to pin it down. Your opinions? As you can see, some of te hair detail is gone. Liberty appears pretty well, although the light in the photo make the top of the word look a little less defined. Stars appear nice. On the back, "States of" does not appear as pronounced as "united" and "America". Would love to hear opinions good or bad. Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff
