Can someone tell me how to get these prices? I just saw a VG V nickel in not so great condition which went for $4.75. I just saw someone bid on this coin that looks like it even has some corrosion: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1910-Libert...em4ac4ce1529

How do I get those prices? I can get similar coins at a local dealer for 55 cents a piece and paid as little as 28 cents in a large quantity.
I have listed similar coins starting at 99 cents with 60 cents shipping and got one bid.

Its all about the buyer. Many are uneducated, and buy the first coin they see that is old and seems cheap, and probably think its worth a ton of money. Then, are later disappointed to find out its not worth what they'd thought. BTW, I would be interested in buying bulk V and Buffalo nickels if you're selling....

I watched a common date Mercury dime and V nickel go for $13 each at an auction. I tried very hard not to laugh when it was bidding up. However, I have noticed certain sellers items selling for way more than I could ever dream about selling for. For example, I saw a truck part that was about $75 over what I would ever dream of even getting. I could understand if it didn't have bids, but the sad part was it had like 10 bids. I am not accusing this person, but I wonder if some people have a friend or another ebay account bid it up for them?

Some people certainly do have people bid things up for them.

There are a lot of sellers though that have large followings since most people like to order from people theyve used in the past which can get them better prices than individual sellers who dont have that dedicated buying group
