Thoughts on grade. Attribution was not easy on this one. Anyone want to take a stab at the Overton variety? I've had a few disagreements over the years on this one. Maybe I'm wrong. Lets see what everyone comes up with. Also would be interested if anyone could put a ballpark value to a variety collector. Thanks for looking!

Quote: O-103 Agreed, and it wasn't all that hard a choice. The only other examples with the same I-T placement had clearly-disqualifying features.

I think I posted the wrong coin. It is a O-103.
jayman, color in hand looks very nice. This is a rare variety. I wish I knew if its rarity added any value.

Looks like a strong VF-30, possibly VF-35.

I'm in the VF30 camp on this one, I think the rev could be 35 but the obv has too much wear to pull a 35. maybe on a good day at TPG. it is quite a nice problem free coin

This is a placeholder post; I'm running around at the moment and want to be able to sit down and give this some undivided attention, to reconfirm the attribution. As regards rarity, I'll just mention this: PCGS has only one example graded higher than yours.

OK, you'll have to do this for me: I need to know if you can see recutting on Star 10. Star 1 is on the left, closest to the bust, and it counts clockwise from there. Star 10, then, is the 4th one counterclockwise from the last 2 in the date. What it will look like is as if they'd cut one star, changed their mind and recut a second one rotated a little clockwise. You should see 3 "extra" points at 9:00, 7:00 and 5:00. That will nail the attribution. It sure looks like O-103, though.
