What a glorious coin. This one is special, Moe. I'm going to call it AU55, partly because anything AU and above is very scarce. It's a $1000+ coin in AU55, let alone 58.
One more thing: It's O-109, R.2 supposedly but tough as nails in high grade - that's the reason for my value quote. Furthermore, these are almost always found heavily-clashed; an unclashed version carries a pretty hefty interest level. Yours doesn't seem to have very much clashing at all - all I see is in front of the nose. Given how fresh the dies seem (LDS, heavily-drawn examples exist), I have to wonder if it clashed more than once.
This one is special, man. I'm aware of the quality of your collection when I say that this one is a significant acquisition for you.

If I had to take a stab at grading from the pics, I would say 58. The nicest 14 I've ever seen. Congratulations!

FYI: the PCGS lists this coin as part of the "Frederick Collection". ( Donald R. Frederick. Pretty well known Capped Bust Half nut. He's well worth the Google!)

Quote: FYI: the PCGS lists this coin as part of the "Frederick Collection". You cracked it? If I'm gathering threads from the Internet correctly, that makes this coin AU50 and one of the top 4 in a PCGS slab - they only have two in Mint State and two AU50's. This one didn't show up in the liquidation auction at Heritage in 2010, so it changed hand by private party. Interesting.

Wow AU 55 IMO, but in hand may be needed. I see no real wear, but I believe it's has a touch of rub here and there. Stunning Capped Bust Half Moe - Thanks for sharing.
