Okay guys, I went to a friend of mine's grandmother's house tonight to help her figure out what all her coins were worth. Her husband recently died and she had no clue what was worth what. I generally have no problem giving at least general information on coin value based on the approx grade. However, tonight I came across a coin that I'm not too sure about and need your help... appears to be a Northern Civil War Token. Here's a picture of a coin just like it, I'm using this because it's clear and I didn't have my camera with me earlier:

So if you have any info (value, etc) I will get it to her.

Also, she has some pretty sweet older Morgans, Bust halves, etc, and since I helped her, she said she'd hold on them until I got some money to buy them!

And for helping her tonight, she gave me a sweet GW commemorative half!

You are correct, that's a civil war token. I believe Fuld# 0178 & 267 (the pictured coin only)

Nice to help your friend's grandmother, and a nice gift

only a guess: to a collector, maybe $10-$20 because of the wear (the pictured coin only)

So you can compare value/price, here are some companies selling CWT:

http://www.civilwartokens.com/ - most here are MS or slabbed

He says that that is a picture of one "just like" his. It is not a picture of the actual coin. His coin could be 178/267 or it could be 178/266 which is a little better. Since we can't see the actual coin we also can't judge condition or check for any damage. For those reasons you really can't give anything other than a very general value range.

good point Conder101. My estimate is only for the exact coin show, yours may be different in quality and/or value.
