A Standing Liberty quarter.

Minted from 1916 to 1930

With no date, worth about $5.00 U.S.

1925-1930 have a recessed date. Since your date is gone and it is a type 2 coin, I would think it was minted between 1917 and 1924.

You could narrow it down to 1918-1924 because of the 3 stars under the eagle on the reverse. I have one almost identical to this one and I am trying to find a way to narrow the date down further.

Couldn't it still be a 1917 Type 2?

It can still be a 1917 Type 2, so 1917-1924 is most likely when this was minted. Still a cool coin, despite the wear.

The three stars were added to the reverse when the Type II obverse quarters struck in 1917 and remained there for the duration of the series. This coin was struck from 1917 to 1924. The Type III obverse was struck from 1925 to 1930 and had a recessed date which kept it from wearing off so fast.
