Their website has the Trojan:JS/BlacoleRef.DF Virus embedded in their links. If you are/have visited their website since May 23, run microsoft security essentials. This Virus is VERY destructive and is rated at the HIGHEST Alert Level: Severe. Here is Microsofts description/solution to eradicate the virus: http://www.microsoft.com/security/p...lacoleRef.DF

Is that "earlydollars.org?"
Edit: Answered my own question, and altered the thread title to match. According to a discussion over at CU, this has been ongoing since at least early March. For the record, most up to date antivirus (I know MSE for sure) will catch and block it on the spot.

My MSE starting going 'nuts' when I went to the earlydollars.org site. If anyone knows the owner of that website, please contact him/her to shut it down. I reported the site to Microsoft, but, I don't think that will do any good. There is a Topic, on this board, called: 1795 Flowing Hair Dollar: https://goccf.com/t/150612 that has a picture from earlydollar.org that if you click on the picture, it will take you to their infected site.

A Trojan virus is not destructive, google it.
However, once the Trojan is installed on your machine, someone has access to you your files. Thats usually when the destruction takes place or the theft of information.

If a malicious user has access to the server, they can add the script to the website without the site owner even knowing about it. Of course they can add malicious code themselves.

Wow, trojans may not be the "most destructive", but they are by far the most hazardous. They don't operate in and of themselves in destroying your system, but they provide a gateway to hackers into your system. Once a hacker realizes you have a trojan, they have complete control of your system. They can download and delete anything on your hard drive. They can take pictures of you using your web camera, open your CD Rom drive, hack other people using your computer, etc. Trojans can open your computer up to unrestricted access and complete remote control.

An OT comment which should probably be dropped here: Near as I can tell, almost all current antivirus programs, if you have them enabled to work in real time and your definitions are up to date, should catch and stop this one now right on the spot. My MSE had no trouble with it; in fact, knowing what I do, I immediately checked the site the moment I first read this thread. MSE found it, confirming g048406's OP, and it never got near my system.
