Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this but I need some advice and I noticed a lot of people here are experienced ebay sellers. I purchased an item from a seller "Angus_coin_shop" and did not pay right away. Now his account seems to be suspended and all his sales disappeared. I'm not sure whether to pay for the item and the seller is sending me harassing emails and even phoning me at work. Is there a way to cancel a transaction? He keeps telling me I have a contract with him and will sue me.

If his account is suspended then I would be a little suspicious Check with ebay first and tell him you are doing so. You can cancel the transaction through ebay but it has to be for a reason or mutual agreement,

I would contact ebay and ask why his account was pulled.
Hold your money until you find out!

Hi

I tried to phone you but your not at the # provided. I,ve been selling for a long time, ebay is on a war path against large sellers. It doesn't change anything. I'm still in business.

Small business like mine is slowly growing due to good reputation and excellent customer service.

Your coin can be pick-up in my store at;

He says ebay is trying to close his store, but if you read guest book on his store page there are a lot of angry people with him.

He insists on getting paid and says he won't cancel the transaction:

When will you pay for this coin, doing the BUY IT NOW is a bidding contract.

Yes he has some bad feedback and yes he seems to have no people skills but unless you have valid reason or can get him to agree you did enter into a contract with him when you hit the buy it now button. I don't see any evidence that he is a crook just not a nice person. If you pay via paypal then you are protected against fraud to some extent. If he does not send you the correct item or its not as described you can file a claim and get your money back. Unfortunately his rudeness is not a valid reason. His account is still active it does not appear to have been suspended its just inactive he has removed all his items.

No ebay removed his listing. I got this email from ebay:

Quote:
Thank you for your interest in this listing:

151052587380 - "Angus Coin Shop" 1908-1998 CANADIAN SILVER QUARTER MINT ULTRA HEAVY CAMEO

Unfortunately we removed this listing and the item is no longer available. We do our best to make sure listings that may not comply with our policies don't get listed, but with millions of items listed everyday occasionally one may appear on our site. We understand this is disappointing.

He did something wrong but you are correct his account is still active. It's a trust call and even though you are protected through ebay in your email it looks like he wants to finalize the transaction in his store. I would not do that.

Don't worry about it. I wouldn't deal with someone like that. Plus sellers cannot leave negative feedback I was under the impression.

I would not even consider paying unless it is through ebay and you have the full backing of ebay's Buyer Protection.

And I would cease all communication with the seller the minute he threatened legal action because if it came to that he would use it against you.

Just call ebay and explain the situation.
I believe, they will go towards you. And do not pay until oficial resolution.

I think this is the sellers reason for the auction being ended by ebay. I have been selling for years and did not realize ebay was at war with its sellers. This is new information to me. Could this be an income tax issue or a fee payment issue? ebay says it was a compliance issue, that is rather ambiguous. I know revenue Canada is cracking down on larger ebay sellers and ebay is squeezing every penny they can out of seller, but a war sounds ridiculous.

If ebay shut the listing down you do not have to pay.

It was a buy it now purchase so the listing would have been live to have been able to make the purchase.

Doesn't matter, he doesn't have to pay. The listing is now completely invalid. It won't even show anywhere, including the seller's My ebay.

Love how he bangs the buyers who give him a negative. Wouldn't want to have a coffee with that guy!
