This is a tough one for me, even with photograde. I'm not a Victory Nickel 'fan' and this looks to be a VF30 (or better?). I'm interest to get some opinions from V-Nickel fans... THANK-YOU.

I'd call it VF35.

Thanks guys.

Dave... What are indicators of cleaning in the photo? I thought I had a pretty good eye for spotting cleaning (especially abrasion markings). I did notice something unusual under magnification... Looking at the first two stars on the left obverse of the coin, they appear more worn than the rest. Is that typical wear for a V nickel?

My question is the dark halos around some of the stars and the date. Could be signs of a light cleaning but certainly not a definite.

looks EF45 to me. nice coin. it may have been lightly cleaned a while back but doesn't detract from the coin at all IMO.

Those first two stars not showing the detail that the others do might not be due to wear on just those two stars. It may be due to a few things. 1. Strike weakness. 2. Thin/light planchet. 3. Filled die/grease in die. 4. Combination of any of those things. FYI. Sometimes there is weakness in the hair detail due to these same issues. That is why you will sometimes see weakness in the hair detail on MS coins.

Don't think the V stands for "victory" in these issues...

I like it at XF45 original.
Nice collectible coins like this example are so nice,
especially compared to the huge supply of g4 coins out there.
