I think this is the real deal, but it kinda looks different from my others. If it is real it is in the worst possible spot because unknown date errors are less collectible then known. I am pretty sure the third number is 8 and I think the last is a 3 because you can kinda see a little piece poking out from under the Cud. It needs a bat in verdi-care though. (Would acetone help it?)

Thanks for looking and any input.

Just noticed from looking at the picture that the last part of America is gone. That makes me feel even more sure that it is a real Cud.

I vote for genuine Cud ... the reverse depression is diagnostic of a broken die leading to the error we know as a Cud ... nice find IMHO.

Weigh the coin ... will tell you if this is a 1983.

Very nice find. It is definitely a keeper or would sell easily on the bay. The area on the reverse that you referred to is a nice pickup point for authenticating a Cud. Like I said it will sell easily on ebay, and here are a couple of links to some nice Lincoln Cuds that have sold recently.

Awesome thanks. If I could really get $40 for it that would help a lot with buying a coin I could keep. I might hold on to it for a while and see how many I can get and what years from circulation.

Raymo that would is awesome. If I say that fall out of a roll or bag I would pass out.
