Hi All,

I wanted to know if there is a document or chart that shows the metal content of silver/gold coins? Example: I collect 1964 Kennedy half dollars which I know its 90% silver. What is the formula to determine the value of that coin based on spot price of silver?

Would the U.S. Mint have this info for all Silver/Gold coins they produce?

Thanks!

I use this site sometimes
http://coinapps.com/silver/coin/calculator/

It has several calculators. The one I linked to allows you to calculate value of individual coins. Try it out. Seems to work spot on for me. I know it's not exactly what ou asked for, but it may give you the answers you are seeking.

I always use (124) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed since they have a handy calculator for any number of silver coins.

They have .36169 ounces of pure silver in them. Multiple that times the spot price of silver on any given day to find the melt value.

If you prefer to keep track in grams, rather than troy ounces, a 1964 Kennedy half has 11.25 grams of silver in it. Get silver's price per gram and you can do the rest yourself.

@mlong219 Try these sites ...these are different from above http://www.coinnews.net/tools/autom...in-valuator/

http://cointrackers.com/blog/1/silv...nt-us-coins/

http://www.silver-calculator.com

I use these and find them helpful but you can look online for others but what you have should save you some searches.

Many websites can do it for you, any of the ones listed above should be fine.
