Heres a big piles of coins I was recently gifted. I bought a batch of 4 very nice roman coins from a guy on
ebay ad got chatting, helped him out with some roman coins he couldnt ID himself, gave him some cleaning tips and helped him with some other random things. In appreciation, he gave me these coins which he filtered from a world coin lot.
They came to me a bit dirty, very banged up in the post (you'll see scratches and dings in the pictures). I gave them a clean, just a dip in white spirit. Got them nice and clean and even one got lustrous.
Heres the run down:
18 pennies
13 half pennies (5 Brit (of which 2 Vics), 8 ship)
7 Farthings (1 Brit, 6 bird)
Thats 18d + 6 1/2 d + 1 3/4 d = 26 1/4 d. For anyone interested, the d means penny, but is a remnant from Rome - it stands for denarii.

As these were given to me free, I think its only fitting I spread them. Some of these will form part of the prize for an upcoming contest and some will be given out (nearly) free in trades.
