We've been searching box after box and finally found one. We search boxes like so many to see what we can find (which is usually zilch).

I thought we had the biggest find we've ever had, but then searched the 'Bay and see well.......they are defintely not that rare after all when I read about this on an earlier post.

So my questions:
1. It doesn't seem like this is worth grading?
2. Have the values of these dropped considerably over the last few years? I say this because I have used "The Lincoln Cent Resource" which I found out about on CCF.
Here: http://www.lincolncentresource.com/priceguide.html

Any advice from the Lincoln experts on this is greately appreciated. Thank you

Congrats on the find. I think the prices on The Lincoln Cent Resource prices jive with Coins Magazine.

Congrats on the find!

Based on the pic's, I would not pay to have this coin graded. It would not be cost effective (IMHO!)

Unfortunately, your coin is not a high grade MS Example.

Check ebay also for closed listings on this coin for comparable prices.

Thank you both, it seems like an MS-67 can be purchased on ebay for around $50 or so. There even seems to be a lot of MS-68 available. I was just under the impression that these were not as common as they are in reality.
I'll definitely keep it after the amount of cents we've searched to obtain this one.
I originally thought they were as rare as the 1955s DDO but obviously not.
Thank you.

Better images might show the die state. It looks like a better one. A lot of these are LDS and VLDS. But you coin looks like a MDS or better. The images block me from see which. Nice find.

Coop, sorry on the pictures. I took over 40 to get these and then the time to go through them all. I'm looking into a "USB" camera like what I've read on here.
"Some have asked about my images I use and I'm glad to say, I've completed an educational DVD of these. Ask if you are interested."
YES COOP, I AM INTERESTED....

Worth grading or not it's still a good find. Congratulations on the find & on having the patience to keep going until you found a keeper.

Coop, thank you VERY much.
Does the DVD recommend any close up/macro USB or DSLR cameras, obviously by your Avatar you using something completely different than I. I'm also trying to research "die state" today on here from older posts. If your meaning clarity, there's no grease filled areas on the coin either on the Obverse or Reverse.

I use a camera with a macro lens and a microscope. I take the images through the microscope. It has worked as a great combination for many years. But that subject is not covered in the DVD. Maybe I should add it to future updates. But here is what I use for micro photos:

Note the 3.5X-35X zoom. Most microscopes are too strong. A single power scope will only let you take one shot. The zoom allows you to get the shot you want.

grandcap74,

You'll really enjoy the DVD, I have learned so much it has greatly reduced the number of dumb questions I post. It truly has incredible photography and information. Congrats on the find, I'm still looking for one.

Sorry, we've been out all day.
Coop, that microscope setup is fantastic, and also scares the !*&% out of me. I don't know where to even start on something like this, but I WANT TOOOOOOO. Can't wait for the DVD and if it's okay, I may have more questions if I can email you on that?
Looking at that, I feel like I'm back in Organic Chemistry (which I loathed by the way :-)
Thanks again.

its not like a standard 95 DDO that I have seen. the ones that I see frequently do not have the spread of your coin and I have not seen it effect the in god we trust. there are several doubleD die varieties for that year and yours may be a nicer variety. congrates on this find.
