Found this while taking a chance on an unopened GSA box. I'm thinking MS62 or MS63. How about you all? The last picture was just taken a little earlier, while the rest were taken when I first got it and under softer lighting. In hand, it has a pretty nice cartwheel.

It's an easy 63 from what I see. Close to a 64 actually but I'd be happy with it as a strong 63.

Yup, easily a 63. I'm not sure if I can see it hitting 64 but it could on a good day.. but definitely no lower than 63.

Where'd you get the unopened box from? I've been debating taking a chance on one as well. But they go for pretty high it seems...

I'd plan on 63 and be pleasantly surprised if it came back 64. Getting it graded doesn't have to be a high priority - they're not truly rare yet - but, of course, keeping it in the original GSA container is imperative.

The first shot of the obverse looks MS64. I'm thinking the next shot is making luster grazes look worse than they actually are. Anyone seeing VAM-3D?

Thanks for your opinions everyone! Dave700x, what exactly is a luster graze? Where would an example of it be in the second shot/picture? Thanks.

Not sure I'm seeing the break at the LIBERTY band; 3C maybe?

Aesop50, much of what you see on the cheek in the first image are just minor rubs which are far less serious than they seem; these are what I believe dave700x is talking about. Incidental sliding contact with other coins in a bag, and a little of the coin's luster gets worn off without any kind of deep gouging.

Maybe. It's hard to say for sure from the photos but the first shot of the obverse shows the die crack extending from Liberty's brow to the letter P and the last photo shows the same crack extending to the letter R. These cracks are on the coin in the VAM3D plate photos but not the Vam3C. As you mention, there is no sign of the die break extending through the LIBERTY band. I guess this could be considered VAM-3C LDS based on this?
