Very nice specimen indeed! I think you are spot on. I would grade it at a AU-55/58. However, since this coin is very valuable I would advise that you have it professionally certified by PCGS, ICG, NGC or ANACS. I would advise that you don't trust other services. There seem to be a couple of scratches on the obverse that may bring the coin's grade down (NGC usually grades harder than others). Best of Luck.

I think it looks like an AU-58.

with AU 58. Just a question everyone, what would be the point of sending it in to get graded if it only makes it worth <$100 above BV? Am I missing something?

Obverse photo has some shadow on Liberty's cheek which makes it hard to nail down the grade. Can you post a better obverse photo? Looks like it has original color and very little marks in these photos. I don't see any wear on the high points, this one should make MS-61.

Nice coin! The surfaces are nice, but it is really all about luster when going up to the MS grades. I see luster in the fields, but not on the devices of liberty's face....which would limit it to the AU range. If there is substantial luster on lib's face that the scans did not capture; then it would have a good shot at MS-63.

I've seen MS coins in the archives that have had subdued luster on the devices and made well it into the MS grading. Your coin looks very lustrous along the peripherals with a strong reverse that qualifies it IMO. Can you post cam shots as well?
I think you've got an MS61

I took the coin out of the package and put a couple more pictures up. I'm not sure what a CAM shot is Dsfreeworld.
If several of you think it could go MS, I think I would definately like to send it to PCGS to get officially graded. Now I just need to find somehow to do that....without spending too much money. The shop I usually deal with here in Canada sends in coins once a year, and that was two weeks ago, so I guess I'll just have to wait a year to get her in a professional grading box.
However, I value the opinions of those of you who have replied in just as high esteme as any of the "pros", so thanks for all your help.

I'm torn on this one - definite slider at worst - but I think a TPG would be equally-torn and wimp out with AU58.

I think it is at least an AU-58 but could go MS. If Liberty's face is lustrous like the fields, it will have a good shot at an MS.

The reverse looks MS64. The obverse looks a bit lower. It certainly could grade MS63 and without seeing it in-hand there's no way to say for sure because it could grade AU58 too.
Based on my experience with $20 Libs, you've got a MS62 with a shot at 63.
