The silver 50 cents (two types) of Sarawak are quite scarce, and VF or better examples of the first type can cost $ hundreds.

Yes, the "country" only had the two rulers - (amazing that it's really only just over 100 years since an enterprising explorer could carve out their own country) but I'm aware that the better preserved coins are on the pricy side.

It's such an interesting slice of geography/histry though.

This was a tougher one for me to find for my collection as well. Actually, just last month added it to the collection. Same coin and year, mine is not in as nice condition though. Nice coin

Sarawak had 3 rulers: James Brooke (1842-1868), his nephew Charles Brooke (1868-1917)and Charles' son Charles Vyner Brooke (1917-1946)
