I found a 1974-D Kennedy half dollar coin while searching a roll. The 7 appears to have been polished off and also the mint mark appears to be a D over S. Has anyone seen this variety before?

to CCF. The 7 looks like either PMD or a Grease Filled Die. There is no known D over S and we would need close up shots of the MM to comment.

Wow, nice find. That is what I like about roll searching, the neat stuff you see.

Right now I only have a cell phone (app) to take close ups of the coin. I was wrong about the D over S. When looking at it from different angles under magnification, it appears to be a very strong and maybe multiple punched mint mark.
Are there any suggestions as to how to use a camera to take close up shots?
I have a Nikon D400 camera with 23x zoom. Is there a way of using this to get those close up shots of mint marks and other small details on coins?
Thanks for your encouraging comments!

Look for a little flower icon on your camera to take close up shots.

Struck through error. (grease) If the coin had been tampered with the rim would not be full and in tact.
