There is a 1936 dot cent selling on ebay for 77 hundred dollars. It looks more like a lump as opposed to a dot. I guess people dream about a big sale but I do not think it will take place with this coin.

Now after seeing the size of that dot and the ~value of the authentic (and smaller dot) cents,... .....I would put a value of ~ 3 million $ for that dot cent,..give or take a million $. ..all dots being equal that is. . . . . I think that they used too big of a drill bit,..when drilling from the other side...

Makes me think maybe I should try listing my (unverified and probably not real) dot cent on ebay to see if there are any takers and how much I could get for it. I'm curious if it would sell for more than $100 bucks

Wow. That is just sad. If it was real, could you really think that this person who deals in coins is selling it for $8K, knowing that it is that variety. That had better not sell. If its not certified, no one should buy it I hope... I wonder how they made that lump though. No evidence from the opposite side. Blob of coloured solder? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1936-1-bump...t_533wt_1072

They're just honest folk.....trying to make an honest living.. ...and they didn't want anyone to miss the dot ..so they made sure that it was a big one...

Sure don't look anything like the dot's I've seen. Secondly, it doesn't even appear like a natural minting error. Looks to be photo shopped to me.

I still don't know if DTS supports the idea of a business strike or not.
The Pittman's seem to be clear backdoor jobs. But how does attacking them help the value of his die pits?

We can all ascertain that the offered (huge dot) 36 cent is a joke,..and I've decided to lighten this up here ...and enjoy the moment... ...and if you want to go down the Pittman road then...you'd be amazed at what I've found when digging in the recycle dumpster at the back of the mint,.. ....and then why do I have this case ..if.. "it was never issued"..? Who has all of the answers as to what was going on ...way back when..?

That seller is an occasional participant here on CCF. His user handle is cbu... go back and read some of the older threads that he has participated in, for complete context. Mindfully, SPP-Ottawa...
