im not able to give an opinion about the DDO, but I do think it is a cool looking coin. I like the color strains.

What is doubled on your coin? It looks normal from the images. Nice color of coin though.

I'm seeing doubling on the left side of all letters in the motto (easiest seen in GOD, WE & the S in trust, the 9 & 5 in the date & some of the letters of Liberty).

The date looks like MD. I am unsure about the rest of the coin. The pictures are not clear enough for me to tell. I do know that you can have both a true DDO/R and MD on the same coin.

Quote: I do know that you can have both a true DDO/R and MD on the same coin. So does that mean that both the obverse & reverse dies when hubbed were done offset? I wonder what the percentage of coins are like that? I zoomed the pictures to 200% & 400% & to me it looks doubled... It should be here by weeks' end... so I'll get it in hand and will be easier to tell. Here's to hoping

So you are saying you do not even have this coin in hand? These were images provided to you that made you want to purchase? If you thought you were getting a true doubled die, I am afraid you are going to be disappointed. I have zoomed in and enlarged the section with "IN GOD". There is nothing that suggest doubled die to me at all. A true doubled die is the same height as the device being doubled. You can tell by the way the lighting is hitting the effected area that it is not the same.

When I bought it, it was advertised as nothing more than a toned 1954-S, so there was nothing implied that it was a DDO. I only paid a couple bucks for it, as a toned Lincoln to add to my collection. As I said, I'll look at it more closely when it arrives. If not a DDO as you believe, that's cool.

The 1954 cents are usually are usually not real nice coins as they made so many with extremely worn dies. This one looks like a better example. The newer the die, the better the coin looks.

Not a bad looking coin though.

Well, the cent arrived yesterday and I was able to get a better look at it. My hat's off to seal006 who CORRECTLY indicated that it was NOT a DDO. Although not doubled, the cent looks MUCH better in hand than in the pictures and am very glad in that fact.
