This coin sold on ebay for 229 dollars. Do you think some of the ebay buyers think who ever is selling knows more about

1955-NSF-Cent coins than they do.

Yes.There is no other explanation for this.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

And the thing is, the 1955 NSF is a well-documented, well-photographed variety, found in any Canadian coin guide. The bidders had no excuse for not seeing this coin for what it is and isn't.

I would try to let the buyer know he got ripped! Was the listing called NSF or just 1955 cent? Hope this selle gets what is coming to him.

I would never bid on such a coin with pictures as small as the ones that were provided with that coin. I hope the buyer realizes their mistake and gets a full refund. Looking at some of the other negative feedback the seller has received...I would not touch a coin from the seller with a 10 foot pole unless it had great pictures. The first negative on his list...even with the fuzzy pics...you can see it is not a 65 pointed 5. Unfortuantely buyers do not know what they are buying or what to look for and just go off what the listing says. Not to mention after reading his replies to the negative feedback they received...not a very personable seller.

In the long run the responsibility does fall on the shoulders of the buyer. As a buyer you should know what you are looking at and if unsure...do your research. If anything seems to good to be true...it most likely is. If the pictures are bad...what is the seller not wanting you to see. There are sellers out there who will intentionally mislead a buyer hoping to get top dollar for something that is not what it is said it is. (hmmm...grammar check) LOL!

IMO...this seller knows that he is misleading buyers and selling items that are not what they says they are. Just my opinion.

I did contact the buyer but he did not respond to my email. He probably thinks the seller knows more than he does about coins. He also might be a new collector or just will not admit we are correct.

Rule #1- Always look at the sellers feedback before you look at the coin.

Rule #2- Ask for larger pics, if the seller does not respond, you know what to do.

Rule #3- Check reference books or online to authenticate the coin before you bid.
