Ive got a coin worthy of grading (finally). But should I? Is it worth it? Its hassle and worry, but it could increase the price.

Heres the coin.

To grade or not to grade, that is the question. How can I get it graded? Is it super duper pricey?

Depends where you plan to sell it Ben. In the UK, probably little point as specialist penny collectors almost exclusively like their coins raw. And the ones I know aren't too trusting of US TPGS picking up all the varieties.

If you DO want certification to sell in the UK then CGS (Coin Grading Services) in the UK would be best.

Prices? £14 standard service. BUT turnaround time can be slow at 30-90 days.

For US sales, US grading services would of course be preferable!

There is no need to have it graded if you plan to keep it and are confident of its authenticity.

Hey JB, I am sure of its authenticity but I am selling it. A buyer has stepped forward with a very generous offer, so I wont bother with grading.
