I just picked it up yesterday and thought it looked like it could go MS62 or 63. Please let me know your thoughts on the grade and if it's OK to ask, what a going rate would be on a coin like this? I paid $1800 for it and I think I didn't overpay, but it's always nice to get a second opinion.
The first picture shows the correct coloring of the coin. I wasn't able to capture it in the others

Thanks in advance.

Gary, You have a very attractive coin that looks better than MS63 in the images. It appears to be a solid 64 with a shot at 65. If it has full mint bloom then I believe 65 is very possible.

That said, you really need a 64 for it to be worth $1800 these days. Melt value is around $1250 today and that has brought prices way down on common date gold.

Did you over-pay? It doesn't look like it. You paid full market price for a MS64 though and your coin is raw. The real winner here would be landing that one in a top tier MS65 holder. It seems to have a great shot at it.

Bit of a ding in Lib's right thigh may hold it back a little.
Otherwise, not too bad at all.

I go with MS63, with a shot at 64. I like it a lot.

MS63/64 but one needs to really see these in hand the rub on the leg is the telling point. Those ticks also will play into the final grade, it's a solid MS63 from the photos IMO, with a decent shot at MS64.

My local coin dealer would look up bullion prices and tell me it's only worth melt LOL!

Why do I always look at the edges first? Idk, I do that with Morgans too. Very nice coin.

Every time I get a litter of puppies, everyone says "I'll keep you updated" Hardly ever happens, so really hope you'll tell us what grade it gets!!!

I will, just ordered the shipping kit, so it'll be a few months before I get the graded coins back though.

Way to go I thought it had a good shot at MS64! Definitely glad you didn't let it go for melt, that's for sure. congrats on the grade, you just made a bit of profit on this one I'm sure, as I see it you're up a minimum of $200 and if gold takes off again (a real possibility with Syria and the state of banking in the world) you could do really well if you can afford to hold on to it for awhile. This good news calls for a dancing pepper and banana at least
