Appears to have EF details. Looks corroded, maybe a ground find.

The coin graded fine until I scrubbed the living daylights out of it just to find out it was a cast coin made of pewter...then I got mad then sick.

How did you determine that it was a cast coin made of pewter? It certainly looks questionable and likely has some value as a contemporary counterfeit (assuming that's what it is).

First off wrong color, second wrong weight, third only cast will leave air bubbles all around the edge of the coin( remember I saw it very close up) fourth it failed the silver test, and last of all this was the killer it jumped three inches off the floor to stick to my magnet. But all -N- all I could be wrong and PCGS who graded it before me and ANACS graded it after me who graded it XF after my good scrubbing I gave to it is right...UH NO.

This is the coin after I sent it back to the ebay seller and he sent it back to ANACS to regrade.

wait, TWO TPGs graded a fake magnet-sticking counterfeit as genuine? I can't buy that one but only because I've never heard such a thing and I am still scooping my lower jaw off the floor at hearing it.

The second set of photos are an NGC slab, not ANACS. You must have an extremely powerful magnet!

You could be right...it might have been NGC. Look between C and A at the large cast bubble. Once I scrubbed it down I knew Immediately it was fake. For my magnet you can not separate it from a block of iron, I use vice grips for that. My good scrub down on the coin turned out pretty good, those are before and after photos.

This coin doesn't apear to be fake or cast. And I would doubt that two TPGs would certify it if it was. It is defintely a details coins with VF+/EF grade.

That just goes to show even the best make mistakes to even obvious like this one. When I got the coin it was black as coal so I cleaned it the more I cleaned the more fake it looked. It's weight was way off and my silver tester gave it a pewter or aluminum reading, and that's about as far from silver you can get. Before I cleaned the coin it was a fine 10, After I cleaned it, it was a XF.40.

I kinda compared it off my 1837 which had a slight bit more wear. MY gram scale is super accurate. 1837 weigh 2.61 grams 1838 O weigh 1.96 grams I hope that helps but I'm really not sure what the no stars supposed to weigh.
