Sweet! It makes you wonder how it got loose as it's obviously been in someone's possession for some time.

Nice! I got two of these a few months ago while going through a pack of 100 $1s I picked up from a bank. Not nearly as good as yours. Also in the same pack I picked up a web note.

About 30 years ago, in my childhood, we'd help put the "crazy" lady in the neighborhood with her lawn, groceries, etc. She'd disappear inside the house, pull back some wallpaper and peel off some silver certificates to pay us for helping her. Not knowing any better, they ended up at the local 7-11.

Are silver certificates worth anything significant? Where is a good place to find a list of the valuable ones to look for?

mizigori silver certificates are not worth to much unless they are in unc 63 or high this bill would be worth between 5 and 10 dollars to a collector also I would recommend for values get The offical Red Book A Guide Book of United States Paper Money

Chinese restaurant's, liquor stores in high crime areas yield silver and old currency. 7-11 another spot that you can find silver. When I was little my sister and I spent some silver quarters for the ice cream truck. To us they were just a quarter and could be found in circulation still.

So, IHPO8S:
If I go into a high crime area and find a Chinese restaurant, next to a liquor store which is across the street from a 7-11 on the corner, would I be in note heaven?

I would say that theory has a valid point. In urban area's the crime rate is much higher. A lot of B&E's and probably a lot of the time they just see coins and dump them in there book bag and spend them at the store for. Probably a lot of young kids robbing there parents coin stash to buy soda's and ice cream ( I know when I was about 8 I took 3 entire rolls of silver quarters from my dad and spent them on snacks )

It is probably worth $5 or so - but no dealer really buys $1 Silver Certificates from after 1923.

And, Jenger, no kid over 6 would spend their own money on snacks these days. They buy videogames and tech crap.

I picked one up in New Zealand - interesting to ponder about its history over 80 years of usage W099282908
