I haven't been to their site for a while, so, I went to look around a little there today and was kind of surprised at all of the products with cannabis leaves on them. And their explanation of using the cannabis leaf on their coins seems to be a stretch to me.

I wonder how many they will sell since the price of one of their cannabis coins could buy a pretty good supply of Doritos and Oreos.

I think they have been making cannabis bullion for awhile now. I havnt heard their explanation of why they do it, but whatever the reason, it doesn't bother me too much. I think you have to be alittle crazy to collect PMs anyways =P

People put anything and everything on coins/rounds. I don't see the problem. You may not realize it but marijuana use is pretty high in the US, thus the appeal of a partially untapped market to exploit. I say partially because one country that I know of has a scratch and sniff cannabis coin but it's cupronickel. Now we have two states that have essentially legalized it and there's at least 13 states that allow medical marijuana. The trend is heavily weighted toward full decriminalization of the substance. Just a matter of time. The freedom to use it is also a libertarian concept, which I think the company seems to espouse. To put it succinctly, to each his own.

I believe recently a poll showed the majority of Americans would like to see it legalized, not to mention some states have legalized it already. I don't care for their products but like drugs if there is a demand there will be a supplier.

Yes, but it happened long before the cannabis rounds.

I agree with what traevin said. There is a clear movement towards legalization and SBSS is taking advantage. I do question, however, the extent in which companies truly support the causes that they exploit to make a buck. After all, how many people would buy SBSS cannabis rounds if marijuana were legal?

The real issues with SBSS have for some time been their legendary delays in shipping dates and their equally legendary damaged products that should have
never been shipped out. The strongly negative reflections cast by those issues on their "quality control" and overall professionalism/reliability/integrity are the
real problems with SBSS.

Their building a cannabis leaf motif into their silly rounds is one more deathbed-level attempt to get some attention. SBSS continues to be a bad joke.

Nonetheless... I'll be buying their rounds. Those rounds will show up (probably in 2-3 years) in the generic secondary silver bucket down under the front counter
@ my LCS for spot+$2. When they do, I'll definitely be buying in on The SBSS Popularity Rage Bubble. I'll just be a little bit late.

Well, at $44.54 I think I'll pass.

Here's the thing that I thought was strange and a stretch:

"The pot leaf emblem can act as a symbol of defiance, freedom and hope for a future lead by individuals taking leadership for themselves, rather than crowds under obedience from Her Majesty."

Like I said, Joe, that quote is a plank from the libertarian platform. It's saying the government should stay out of people's private lives. I think that's a stance a lot of PM collectors on this board can get behind, regardless of whether they use the substance or not.

Funny. It brings up a good question, though. Is there such a thing as a hippie liberal coin collector? Anybody ever meet one? I personally haven't.

I havent. They may be rare as full time collectors but with all the drug t shirts and such as a one off purchase I bet theres a good number that have stuff like the weed coins.

Oh look what I got up lol....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...t_1306wt_758

They prob looked at the huge amount of numbers of people who smoke weed stat wise and figured it would be a hit....

Prob with that theory is most stoners are not smart enough to comprehend the value of pmz, as their only concern is the next hippie festival and how they will need to clean up the port O potties post concert running the ol honey pumper, sell grilled chez and waffle ice cream sandwiches in order to pay for the trip and hopefully scrape up enough drugs and gas to get them to the next show lol, not to stereotype or anything lol.....

Sorry I love taking a jab at the hippies like Cartmen. I recall an episode where he had a bunch trapped in his basement and was trying to prevent drum circles from forming in south park, via the festival that never ends, so he tosses them a dozen joints and acoustic guitar down the steps and shut the door and said-That should keep them occupied for a week or so lol....

Oh I know all smokers are not hippies, the rest are just MEDICATING is all, yeah little meds lol....

I'm not a hippy but I am a liberal. I voted for obama, I personally feel that the republican party has literally gone off the deep end and I cannot support any of that. I am pro choice & believe in equal rights among the LGBT community.

Im a pretty avid pot smoker and I believe it should be decriminalized (not legalized) federally. I truly believe in its medicinal values (although I don't use it for that)

I had long hair, but I cut it. From 17 - 23 I cut my hair 1 a year.

I don't listen to phish though..

My order shipped yesterday. It was much quicker than the 3-4 weeks it says on the site. I have three more orders in with them.

Besides current users, I think the cannabis medallions would appeal to people who tried it in their youth or in college. It's nostalgia.
