I'm still trying to tell how to know if a coin is polished or not. On the coin below, it looks really good, but as you will see, on of the "D"s has a bit of a hayze around and inside it, but another does not. I would think that if part of the coin was cleaned, it would all have been cleaned.
If you are definately sure of what to look for and can tell me if this coin is cleaned forsure or not, I would really appreciate your expertize. Thanks

Cleaned, possibly. Polished, no. Harsh cleaning, no.

Images look like scans and that makes it tough but....it does not look polished.

Polishing is usually characterized by shiny, bright surfaces particularly on the higher points of the devices. Imagine what a cloth buffing wheel would do when spun against metal. It shines it up, polishes it.

Not at all. You will find many coins where a portion of it has been cleaned but not all it.

It doesn't look like an obviously cleaned or polished but it is hard to tell for sure from scans.

Well scans are hard to tell but my first reaction was not polished.

Just got the coin back from PCGS and they agreed with us that is has had a light cleaning.
