Here is my latest six pence I bought. It is a George V 1919 6p. It had a few rim nicks on the reverse but was still in EF if not a little better. I bought a GB price guide book which helps me know if I am getting my money's worth on these and I did pretty good on this one.

I like it

That reverse is one of my favorites on British coins.

Very nice Irishraider, have just started collecting coins from Great Britain myself (earlier than 1910). There are some great looking coins around and you have one of them

G'day, My favourite UK sixpences are the early ones after the Great Recoinage of 1816, and the 1887-Type2 (withdrawn).
These featured the Royal Arms on the reverse, as did the half-sovereign. Both coins were 19mm diameter. One was gold, the other silver, so the only differences were colour and weight. A lot of effort was made to re-colour sixpences, in order to pass them off. I have two: 1820 & 1887.
I also have a gilded 1787 shilling - a little larger than post-1816 shillings - but the same size as a Guinea. This is a very interesting form of "forgery".
