I found in my change yesterday a two headed quarter. One side is date of 1974, the other is dated 1967, and there is no mint mark on either side.

Very Odd. At first guess without seeing it I'd say it's a Magicians coin. Do you have a picture?

I am familiar with magicians coins. This is not one, I don't have a picture yet. The two heads are't lined up in any way. The coin is wafer like a real quarter, and is minted properly on the head side.

Given this fact, it really can't be anything but a Magicians coin, it's likely just a very good one. Why do you say it isn't?

This statement implies that you know which one used to be the tails side? So what is improper about that side?

Do you mean layered, like you can see the core? If so that doesn't mean it isn't a Magicians coin. The good ones start with a hollowed out coin.

I have to agree with Bobby ,,it is impossible for a coin to have two seperate dates ,, the dies are destroyed after use .

if you look closely around the rim on one side or the other you will find the joint between the two coins ,, one has been hollowed out the other turned down and thinned to fit within the other .

I could be wrong but I believe that the obv and rev has there own fitting's on the press and are not interchangeable meaning that it would be impossible for a two headed or two tailed coin

I got out the jewelers loupe and found the joint of the two coins. Whoever did the fitting did a darn good job of it. My thanks for everyone's help.
