Another very good example why I gave up on buying ancient silver.
The edge is the only thing which gives away the 'ruse'
Not that bronze can't be faked quite well. I just feel more comfortable in spotting them !

Without the database reference, I was a bit doubtful about this piece.
All of the detail in the devices and legends is dull, it should be much sharper.
Suggestive that all of the detail is the second generation of copying.
Good quality fake, and bobbyhelmet has confirmed 'fake' beyond any doubt.

I'm no expert on ancients but this counterfeit looks "smoothed" and devices are not accurate. Like U.S. Gallery Mint copies.

Fvrvrs think I know the NFG but what does the number mean?
Can you guys say why you think a coin is fake so that us newbies and pick up a few clues? I would not have bought it because of that "ring" impression on the reverse and I don't like the lettering, but they might be fine!
