Morning folks, I'm looking for grades and opinions on this 1860 IHC. I think its in the AU range, maybe 55. I'm having a hard time determining if its been cleaned. the pics are not that great and the lighting could be hiding the surfaces

I would go w/ mid AU. Has probably been dipped at some point, but not harshly cleaned though. Something about the look of the rim on the right side doesn't look quite right to me though... unless it's the angle the picture was taken from

I like it. I'll go AU55, broad bust (more common 1860 variety). Rim is fine, it just looks thick b/c the angle. Possible old dipping.

I agree with your assesment of AU55 nice piece.

Cleaned? Maybe tough to tell, probably wouldn't details grade from a TPG on that issue.

Huh, I don't see much of the diamonds. I would consider this XF+.

I can see that too buddy16cat, EF45/AU53 quite possibly a weaker stuck coin, the wear seems consistent with low to mid AU coins, the diamonds are sure weak though the reverse is quite nice, and the feathers are struck well. So a toss up between EF and AU?

I'd say this one is a weak strike AU53 coin.

At the moment, I am leaning towards a low AU.
