First place would have to be the 1949 design
Runner up would have to go to the 1958 design.

You have chosen a great set to put together!

This thread seems kind of unfocused :?

But the 1949 design is also my favorite - okay, it comes second to the 1919 (good luck in storage for three years!).

Morgans. No brainer for me!

1. huge body of knowledge associated with these
2. large impressive silver coin
3. excellent design
4. not a commemorative (thank goodness!) They actually circulated.
5. can be bought cheaply, but
6. the 'kings' of this series can be worth thousands.
7. Because of the last two points above, they have a huge collector fan base, however,
8. everybody can have one in his collection, for not much money.
9. can be collected as bullion coins, if you want to.

I am sure lots ot other fans of Morgans could add to this list.

I'm with sel, no question about it Morgans.. For all the reasons he listed... It's arguably the most collected dollar in the US, if not the world.. As far as a favorite goes I have a few I like a lot more than others I have.. I especially like colorful toners, DMPL's and any CC.. Here's one of my favorites, I just love the vibrant colors in this one..

And I absolutely love the Seated Liberty dollars as well, just beautiful!

*edit* I feel exactly the opposite about the Morgan/Peace dollar's as 52Raymo and the others... I do like the Peace dollar, but to me it doesn't hold a candle to the Morgan design. I think the obverse of the Peace dollar is horrid while the Morgan obverse is stunning... And the Morgan reverse wind as well IMHO. Lol, it's interesting to see how different people view things.

I think a Peace obverse with a Morgan reverse would be nice or the reverse of the Walking Liberty half dollar. That would be even better.
