Here is an 1887 Liberty nickel for your grading and opinions. my only concern is the little rim nick (noted by arrow). How much do you folks think that it would devalue the coin? would it be enough to earn a details grade?

If that nick were enough to warrant a details grade, the policy needs to review. I'm not even sure it's PMD.

Seems like a first-class coin to me.

Sweet! Awesome luster! I don't think it would grade details. Awesome die crack!

I also don't think you would get a details grade. seems insignificant to me.

Any comment on grade? I'm thinking MS64. looks like some spotting on the obverse and a couple very small hits on the reverse

I like it! Nickel being a very hard metal, made for dies that broke easily and often. I'll say MS63+ how good is the luster? as static photos don't tell the whole story very easily.

While not detailing the coin, I believe the rim nick would bring it down to MS62-MS63.

thanks for comments everyone. I do not yet own the coin but am considering it for my type set. I think if the price is right, it is strong enough
