Another term for space fillers is washers. Just drill the holes to complete.

Don't laugh. I've seen verdigris ridden crap go for a pretty penny on ebay. Keep an eye out for this listing. It's gonna provide some amusement this week!

Indeed, I'm not savvy enough to spot a fake coin. That is why I would normally baulk at buying anything like this. That the the prospect of going through thousands of coins looking for a "good" one. What a nightmare. Looking at the guy's other listings it seems like he knows what is a good coin. Surely he'd know what a real one is worth.

And I just got the popcorn maker out and all!
Don't the facsimile ones have to be stamped "copy" by law?

You are probably correct sfitzernator, but that would suggest that counterfeiters care about the law.
He'll relist it ......

I don't think there is law that copies have to be stamped. An offence only occurs if you try to pass one off as genuine.
When was the last time you heard about a prosecution for such an offence?

And yet, another one, carefully seeded with a low grade 1925 right next to it....already up to about $130.00 per kilo

Don't forget the fake 1930 in the second photo (under the 1929 at the top).
