Wow, that is an amazing coin! I would love to have $325 G's laying around for it. I love the St. Gauden series.

I hated listing it, but I'm a little short this week.

I suffered an involuntary physical reaction to that coin.

Only if you'd never want to look at your album. I don't think it would stay in my coin/computer room if it had that coin in it. Then again, if I had that kind of money, I could keep it in the 2 foot thick concrete vault I built underneath my 2.5 million dollar estate and look at it everyday.

SuperDave,

Was it a good response, or bad?

Sorry, I spent my extra $300,000 on ASE sets and other modern mint products.

If I was the grader who got that coin in my box, I'd be very nervous to handle that coin. And, yes, on occasion they do drop coins in the grading room. That coin is amazing.
Rest in Peace

Absolutely beautiful.

Wouldn't it be great to be a billionaire, and buy such coins whenever the desire moved you to do so!

"This coin was awarded the coveted Star designation!"

What does it mean to have a star designation?

We just talked about this somewhere else, but I don't remember where. I believe it was determined that this meant "superior eye appeal". Some think it may be on the verge of bumping up in grade.

My thoughts are it already received that bump and the justification is the star.

I think I might have one of those. I better check my collection before I order - I would hate to wind up with two!
