I honestly after reading up about it think it is fake one major contributor is the lack of die cracks (don't lay into me I know they are not present on every 1923 half penny but majority do) and finding it in a bulk lot only reinforces this. Although I did go and compare the coin with those for sale by noble and the numbers at first glance look good but gee that is the most PVC damage I think I have ever seen on a coin.

Did you clean it between the first set of photos and the second?
I am not an expert at picking these but nothing junps out as me as being fake. The issue is that is looks pretty poorly cleaned which will hurt its value a lot.

It's genuine but the poor thing has had a hard time. soak it in olive oil & rub very lightly with a cotton bud on the more persistent areas, then rinse it in acetone serial.
BTW OMF not all genuine 23 halves have the die cracks, thats just one of the things to look out for,to narrow it down.

Not going to comment on this one, if fake or not, based on pictures only. The stakes are just too large. I fear on making an unfair judgement, either way. I am not in a position to examine this one 'in hand', and that needs to be done, by someone who knows. Take it to a professional dealer, who is very experienced in these.
