I just wanted to share a few pics of this very rare coin. I recently acquired it and sold it for a client. I have not been able to find ANY pictures online of this coin (other than one Heritage auction) or the clock.

beautiful clock and coin. I wonder if you can safely extract it from its case...

Based on the information and very nice pics you posted on another forum, it seems these where issued to employees on the opening of the Winnipeg plating facilities in April of 2000. Curiously, it doesn't seem to have the 'w' mint mark.

Where did you find it? Quite a find. I wouldn't have parted with it.

WOW! That is amazing! Quote: I wouldn't have parted with it. , I would have totally kept it, but it probably wouldn't have been able to fit in my budget.

Very Nice! I want one for my collection! I bid on one a few years ago but I ended up being the bridesmaid!

Beautiful coin and yes VERY RARE, however, my only concern is that it is embossed in a part of jewellery. Does anyone know if this coin can be extracted without being damaged? If not, it has absolutely no Numismatic collector value. It's like those coins that were embedded into acrylic plastic and sold as desk top paper weights. I don't recall seeing any TPG slabbed either. Glenn

I know of a canadian dealer who managed to safely remove the coins from the casing. All 50c 2000P certified by PCGS came from his hands. These pieces were available at the Mint boutique until mid 2003, when someone noticed the "P" and blew the horn. There must be a good number of watches out there. Can someone check the mintage and post, ple ASE

I have to bother someone here because 50 cent pieces aren't my thing. When I check coinsandcanada.com, there's not much of a premium for the 2006 P. Is there something I'm missing?

Chequer, I believe this thread is about one specific coin variety, 2000P half dollar. When you looked it up on the website you mentioned it wouldn't show up since few or none have ever been sold on E-bay. This coin has a mintage similar to it's sister, the 2000P dime, less than a few hundred. If only someone could have got their hands on one from the Mint the year they were issued, what a nice buy it would be. Glenn

Greetings all, I've been interested in this coin since I read about it. I've been researching it and I thought that I may have come up with some dumb luck. I found the clock. The picture displayed the exact clock as above with the 2000 50 cent piece, I could not see the Queen side. I bought 2 of them for $80.00 each and got them today. Everything is perfect but the 50 cent piece is a 2003 with no mint mark. It was fun, hey you never know and I haven't lost anything. If I want I can return the clocks. It was pretty exciting for a bit thinking that one of the rarest coins in Canada was sitting on a shelf in a Sears warehouse. Liverpool
