Has any one ever tried this. I would think that would take care of moisture problems. I would think even better sealed with a silica pack. Any thoughts.

I live near the sea and I am aware it's not the best environment for storing coins. I have several UK Royal Mint proof sets from the 1970s which are notorious for tarnishing. I've kept these sealed (in their original packaging) inside food saver bags for several years amd it seems to work! I also put little bags of silica gel all around the cupboard where I keep my coins.

For long term storage, put your album with a silica gel bag, in a large clip lock polyethylene bag.
Just make sure the bag is stored, so that it is not accidentally punctured.
Food storage clip lock bags are good, because they come in a range if sizes.

I use vacuum sealing all the time for my coins. Even seal up the Dansco Albums. Never had a coin tarnish or corrode. Use it especially for coins going in bank safe deposit boxes. For slabbed coins I use a 3 x 4 ziplock for each and then take 20 of them in 4 piles of 5 and vacuum seal them. I have so many collector friends that have these terrible looking tarnished coins whose value had been reduced to almost nothing because they were not properly protected. For non slabbed coins not in a Dansco I use Air-Tite Directs.

Just my thoughts

I place all my Albums in Zip Lock bags. I push out as much air as possible, fold over and seal.

Noivern!

I use a zip lock but never have vacuum sealed them before.
I might try that once I get a few more completed.

I keep my most valuable coins inside a zip lock with silica and a few bright red cents.

Hefty makes 2.5 gallon storage slider bags . I use them to store my 3-ring binders full of 2x2 pages .
< mintmarks > use of bags for his rolls is a good idea but I would need to own the zip-loc company .

One of the better revived threads. 2.5 gallon bags I will have to put on the list - I have the gallon, but did not know they made 2.5 gallon. Now my binders can feel the love too.
