Hello. I've had this 1883 Morgan dollar since I was a little kid. I wanted to know if this coin was cleaned and if it's worth anything over melt value. Any grade estimations would also be appreciated. Thank you for your time today.
Possibly but it really doesn't matter when it has this much circulation wear on it, it would matter if it had been scrubbed with a wire brush or polished with a silver cleaner and a buffing wheel. This is a common date coin for Morgan series of dollars, and I think it looks pretty good for the amount of wear, no problems like scratches or rim dings seem to be evident. That's a good thing!
It grades around F12/F15 and is worth a touch over melt to many collectors.
