At first glance, the sprig looked perfect for that variety, but check out the orientation of the cinquefoil to the left of the spear...

Well then! Looks like it's 33.1-Z.19. Have you even seen one of these before? Looks to be a pretty rare variety.

That seems to match up pretty well.
R5+..cool!
Picked it up at the Philly ANA show unattributed (as a lot of these are)in the ANACS holder.

Good for you. Did the granularity get it a details grade?
And by the way, what happened to that 1776 "Machins Mills" from June 25?

Yeah, it is slightly corroded but not bad. I agree with the grade of mid-VF details.
That thread on the Machin's should still be there..maybe on page 2 or 3.

Yeah the thread on the Machins is there, but no conclusions from after you got the coin in hand. So what did the attribution turn out to be?

Don't know. I have to get my hands on a better Machins resource. I'll be at the Chicago show, hope to pick something up there.
In the mean time, I just picked up a 1747 Vlack 1-47 at a decent negotiated price.
Pretty hard Machins to come by so I jumped on it.
I'll get that one up soon.
