F/VF Details ( More on the Fine end)- Cleaned. Still a $150.00 coin, in my opinion.

VF details ... suggested retail $200-$250 .... IMHO, not worth a TPG slab ... Yet, a decent, affordable type!

What do you make of this one? The owner says its VF25 but has priced it lower than what a VF20 would sell at so I guess he thinks its a F15-VF20. What do you make of grade and valuation. By the way, I am looking to buying a cheap ($650 or less) Draped Bust Half Dollar in F15+ condition.

Nope, F12 Details.. Definitely a problem coin, I wouldn't go for this one unless it's for 40-50% of Suggested Retail at F12

Ok thanks. I'm trying to buy one of these but anyone who sells one is either selling one with a very low grade or has a crazy price. Can someone help me find one that is F15+ and under $650 but isn't overpriced?

After looking around ebay, finding a nice problem free Draped Bust Half for a decent price seems to be quite a challenge. A lot of them seem to have problems or are way overpriced.

Tell me about it. Even "prestigious" dealers aren't much better.

Sorry for ressurecting the topic. Grade of this. It's selling for $380. I'm sure I can get it down to $340. Grade and value please?

I suspect that the overall disparity of pricing in this series is due to a wide variance in strikings. Uneven striking and wear tends to prevail. IMHO, a well struck VF or better early Bust Half should command a premium. The gray sheet and price guides don't take this aspect into account, methinks.

Coin shows are the best places to hunt for these puppies ...

F Details, not sure of value.

IMO that coin has been messed with and I would shy away from it. Something is going on around stars 5,6 & 7 on the Obverse. Also by the Arrows on the Reverse and the "U" in UNITED is not right. Probably some sort of repair? For the money you have budgeted you can buy one that is problem free.

Edit: PM sent
