All this talk about MAD's and Off-Centers got me to thinking about a cent I found not to long ago that has me puzzled. I am not sure what the deal is but I originally thought it was PMD until I looked at the reverse. The blank area of the obverse has a corresponding weakness on the reverse and the coin is otherwise well struck and in great condition. Any ideas what may have happened here? Is it a MAD, an Off-Center Strike, something else, or is it just PMD? All opinions are appreciated, thanks.
The weight is close, but I'm think a tapered planchet also. The rims are not full in certain areas. Or a lower weak strike. The pattern seem to be affect in certain areas.
