Hello group, I'm new here! :) first post..
Since I was a kid in the 70's I have been pulling coins out of pocket change, and I have built my "20th Century Collection" back to about 1960 from pocket change alone! but now I am beginning to buy coins, to get the older ones..
I was given some Whitman folders as a gift, and while I enjoy them, they have one feature I dont like..they contain a spot for *every* mintmark! ;)
I understand I will probably be an ultra-minority in this, but this is how I want to build my 20th century collection:
Only one coin of each year, 1900 to 1999, of cents, nickels, dimes, quarters, halfs and dollar coins..circulating coins only..but the thing is, I only care about collecting one of each..I dont care about having every mint-mark! Just one coin per year, mint-mark being irrelevant..
With that in mind, are there any folders or albums that accommodate such a collecting style? or do they all have openings for every mint-mark?
thanks! Scot Edited by sscotsman 08/09/2013 2:50 pm

Know how you feel, sscotsman. I do save low denomination US coins if they've got a different mintmark from the one in my collection, but when it comes to Morgan and Peace dollars I'm currently just trying to get one of each year. I use blank albums without dates printed in them.

sscotsman! Dansco also makes millimeter pages, and empty albums so you can customize them any way you see fit. Get the slipcover option I find that it keeps cat hair and dust out really well! That said albums on a book shelf don't attract as much attention if you are ever buglarized, (I was) they skipped over everything on the book shelves. Guess they didn't know what they were missing! As some of my books are worth more than a lot of my coins too.

On that note then I found a dealer on ebay selling single pages in bulk mix and match is okay, with a free album last month. Vernon coin. Here is a link to current auctions, they were the lowest price I could find after I added in shipping. http://www.ebay.com/sch/Albums-Fold...=vernon.coin
